A couple months ago, I shared how my family and I were slowly transitioning to a vegan diet, and I just wanted to update you all and let you know that it's been extremely successful so far! We've tried so many new snacks and foods and I can't wait to share some of our new favorites with all of you!
Although we have tried many vegan products, we are still transitioning slowly. This means that we still are not 100% on a vegan diet yet, but we are definitely eating healthier and being mindful of what we are putting into our bodies, which was our main goal. My last post included one of our new favorite snacks, and this time around I wanted to share some healthy pantry essentials including condiments, dressings, marinades, and oils all from Primal Kitchen. **I'd like to note ahead of time that not all of the products included in this post are vegan, but Primal Kitchen offers a wide variety of vegan, keto, and Whole30 options.

It's definitely something that my family and I are having to get used to, but remembering to leave the house with my face mask has become as important as remembering to grab my phone and keys. I must admit, the first time I wore a face mask to the grocery store at the beginning of this year, I absolutely hated it and found it to be extremely uncomfortable. However, I continue to stress to my family and everyone around me how important it is to wear a mask. I suggest reading this BBC article as to why we should all be wearing masks.
I hate to mention quarantine in every blog post I upload this month, but it's hard not to mention it when it's basically become a lifestyle. Lately, my family has been eating a lot healthier because we are having home cooked food for all three meals, meaning less fast food. Our family as a whole has been trying to adapt to a healthier lifestyle by being mindful of the types of food we put into our body and of course by exercising a lot more.
For quite some time now, even before quarantine, my daughters have been wanting to transition to a vegan diet. We've read countless blog posts and articles on why one should go vegan and learned some tips to get started. One thing that was commonly mentioned across all articles we read was the emphasis on slowly making the change. Instead of focusing on foods you shouldn't eat, focus on increasing the amount of plant based foods you're consuming and add to your diet. With that in mind, my family and I have been eating a lot more fruits and veggies, but most importantly, we decided to make the small change in the snacks we eat. With so many great vegan snack options, we decided this would be a great place to start. Although we aren't able to go to the grocery store as often as we'd like to, we have taken a couple trips to Whole Foods to experiment with various vegan snacks. We are currently undergoing a process of finding vegan alternatives of our already existing favorite snacks while also trying new snack options along the way. My family and I look forward to undergoing this transition to a vegan diet journey, and I will be updating you guys along the way with some of our favorite vegan snacks that we discovered! If any of you guys are already vegan or are also transitioning to a vegan diet, I'd love to know what some of your favorite snacks are! Thanks for reading! XOXO, With summer travel and back-to-school season right around the corner (yes, it’s hard to believe), it is a great time to think about ways to stay healthy, and hand hygiene is one of the most important measures we can all take to help reduce the spread of germs that can make us ill.
This back to school season, I will be keeping my family germ-free with the help of Purell. Did you know that more than 80% of illnesses can be transmitted by the hands? That's why practicing good hand hygiene throughout the day is so important. When Should I Wash and Sanitize My Hands? Important steps for good hand hygiene are to either wash or sanitize your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer at key moments such as:
PURELL products are perfect for practicing good hand hygiene when soap and water are not available. PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer in convenient JELLY WRAP™ Carriers and New PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer Naturals make practicing good hand hygiene easy. Plus, they are perfect to have in your backpacks, lunchboxes and travel bags. Whilst looking for new braces for my daughters, I came across some a couple brands that have knee braces that work very well, and I'll be posting them all throughout the week. This first brace is more designed for women's, available for purchase on Amazon. This brace is used for recovery, as it is more breathable and comfortable. My daughters liked this brace because of how comfortable it was. They liked how it wasn't constraining them from moving, but still provided support. They wear this out on the weekend, when we go shopping and are able to walk comfortably, without feeling any pain. This second brace is more suitable for men, or people who have been injured. It's available for purchase on Amazon. This brace has four soft springs to provide support for your knees. My daughters wear this brace, on the days when they're feeling a lot of pain, and when it's hard for them to walk. They are able to wear this out, and it is not bulky at all. It is very comfortable to wear, and provides exceptional support. *A product sample was provided by the manufacturer for review purposes, but all opinions are my own*
With two teenage daughters playing sports, injuries are bound to happen. My daughters come home from sports complaining about being sore, but after using the Living Water braces, their pain has reduced. The first product is their knee brace. My daughters have been having knee pain from diving too much during volleyball, and they loved this knee brace. They said that it provided great support while walking. After practice, they put on this knee brace, to prevent any future pain. Since they started wearing this knee brace, they no longer complain about their knees being sore. Another product we've been using is their wrist brace. As mentioned previously, my daughters play volleyball and one of them is a setter. As a setter, you're pushing the ball with your wrist very often, and sometimes it gets sore. My daughters likes the fact that it wraps around your thumb. Many of the wrist braces I've purchased didn't work like that, and she didn't like it as much. This brace provides a lot of support on her wrist, keeping it nice and stiff so she doesn't bend it. My daughters have also been loving this ankle brace. This ankle brace is more for recovery reasons, but they also wear it while they play, so they don't sprain their ankle while jumping so much. They love it and it keeps their ankles stable, so they won't roll it while they play. Before we got this ankle brace, one of my daughters was recovering from a sprained ankle, so she wore this for a while, and it helped a lot. We own many ankle braces, but this is now their go to ankle brace. Whilst looking at the ankle braces they sell, I discovered their reflective gear. We don't own any reflective gear, but I was looking to purchase some. We often go walking at night time or go to the park, and we want to be safe when its dark out. This reflective gear is great so you can be seen to drivers while it's dark. The products are very lightweight, and easy to use. My daughters love wearing them when we're out during nighttime or early mornings. This is great for when you take your kids trick or treating. It's a great way to stay safe! There are many different reflective products available including their belts, ankle band, wrist band, and vest. Note: The following pictures were taken with the flash on, to show it's reflective abilities. *A product sample was provided by the manufacturer for review purposes, but all opinions are my own*
