Lately I've been doing more work from home and although it is a nice change, I must admit that it is not nearly as quiet as my work office. I have a greater difficulty focusing since I have to deal with the random dogs barking, cars zooming down the street, and neighbors cutting their grass.
For some reason, my AirPods cannot connect to my work computer and they are the only headphones I have, so I have been attending work meetings with just the audio and microphone on my laptop. Probably not the best idea for me, so I knew it was time to invest in a high quality pair of headphones. I've been using the Avantree Aria Me Wireless Headphones for the past month, and I've been missing out this entire time by not having these!

You guys know those massage chairs at the mall that are so relaxing yet very expensive? I am honestly obsessed with them. Whenever I make a trip to the mall and find myself having to wait for my daughters, I can't help but end up in one of those massage chairs just to enjoy a moment of relaxation. I have one of those handheld massagers, but honestly it is not nearly as comfortable as a full massage chair.
According to the Professional Massage Academy, some of the benefits of getting a massage include the following:
I don't know about you, but all those benefits sound pretty good to me! After spending so much money on those mall massage chairs, I finally decided it was time to look into investing in a massage chair in the comfort of my home. After much research, I discovered the OSIM uJolly 2 Smart Back Massager and they were kind enough to gift me a unit for review purposes. You heard it here first, I'm training for a marathon! My daughters are the owners of a run club in our hometown, so the rest of our family got roped in to do quite a bit of running as well. As a family we'll be running a marathon at the end of the year, and I've been preparing since October 2022.
I honestly never thought I'd run a marathon since I used to be that person who couldn't believe that people would voluntarily run for fun. However, after seeing numerous TikToks on people running the Boston Marathon and how redeeming the moment was, I told my daughters I'd run a marathon with them. Before finally starting my marathon training, I wanted to make sure that I had the necessary gear. I used that as the moment to spoil myself and got new shoes, athletic clothing, and of course, a watch that could help me track all my activities. Although I am an Apple fan, I have never and will never get an Apple Watch. I am a devout Suunto fan and I always have been (and will continue to be). My very first Suunto watch was the Suunto 3 Fitness, then after my daughter kindly stole that one from me, I got the Suunto 7, and now my newest baby is the Suunto 9 Peak Pro. Growing up, I didn't particularly enjoy sandwiches; however, I eventually realized that was simply because I didn't like the bread my parents used to buy. Now that I've tried a fair share of bread, I'd have to say my favorite bread is sourdough, but I also do love a simple white bread. The other day my daughter and I were talking about how if we can get a loaf of sourdough at the grocery store for only a few dollars, then the cost to produce one must be relatively cheap as well. That led us to wonder if we could make our own bread. I am no professional baker, so I'm not sure if I was ready to commit to making bread at home, but we learned about the wonderful invention of a bread machine, and decided to test one out ourselves (and we weren't disappointed)!
I would consider myself a pretty light sleeper, and like most people, I enjoy sleep and honestly wish I could take daily naps. Regarding my nightly sleep, I don't live on a very busy street, so the only noise I have to be concerned are the crickets outside... oh and my snoring husband. My husband's snoring is pretty loud and lately it has been keeping me up at night. I even get very tempted to sleep on the sofa because I don't want to deal with the snoring, but that's a story for a different blog post. Regardless, I have been trying to find ways to get better sleep at night and recently stumbled upon the QuietOn Sleep Earbuds.
Did you know that February is National Snack Food Month? Although I don't need any more encouragement to snack, I took this as my sign to try new snacks and celebrate some of my favorite daily treats.
As some of you may know, I am a huge snacker. Working from home definitely hasn't helped my snacking habits, but I do always have a small snack around 3 o'clock. It's become a routine at this point. I generally try to snack on nutritious treats, but it's all about that equal balance! As a snack connoisseur celebrating National Snack Food Month, I wanted to share with you some of my new favorite snacks! |
