Growing up, I didn't particularly enjoy sandwiches; however, I eventually realized that was simply because I didn't like the bread my parents used to buy. Now that I've tried a fair share of bread, I'd have to say my favorite bread is sourdough, but I also do love a simple white bread. The other day my daughter and I were talking about how if we can get a loaf of sourdough at the grocery store for only a few dollars, then the cost to produce one must be relatively cheap as well. That led us to wonder if we could make our own bread. I am no professional baker, so I'm not sure if I was ready to commit to making bread at home, but we learned about the wonderful invention of a bread machine, and decided to test one out ourselves (and we weren't disappointed)!

What would Valentine's Day be without chocolates, candy, and all the different types of sweets? Although I do love the "traditional chocolates" like KitKats or Hershey's, there are times that I feel like being fancy and treating myself and my loved ones to higher quality snacks.
When it comes to fancy treats, Sunnyland Farms is my go-to and I don't think I can ever go back to life before I was introduced to the company. Their chocolate bark is my absolute favorite and I'm convinced I could eat five pounds of it in one day if I really wanted to. I've mentioned before on the blog that I love cooking with my family and trying out new recipes, so we are always looking for new additions to our seasoning/spice collection. I don't know much about spices and different seasonings, but I do know that I love adding them to every meal to change up the flavors of all of my favorite classic meals. Even if its just browsing the small section at our local grocery store, I love trying new spices and seasonings to add a different kick to all of the recipes I try out.
I recently got some new seasonings from The Spice Lab and I have never been more excited to cook some delicious meals to try all of them out! About The Scrummy Sweets Co.Founder Siouxie (pronounced Susie) started making her own gummy bears a few years ago because she loves the satisfying goodness that gummy bears provide, but she also has a long-term health condition called lipedema which has made it essential for her to control ingredients in her diet.
As a wife, mother of 4, and grandmother of 4, Siouxie is one of those people who reads every label because the consequences of ingesting certain ingredients just aren’t worth it (both short and long term). She tries to avoid artificial and chemical ingredients in her diet (and environment) wherever possible, and tries to stick to organic and non-gmo ingredients, preferably minimally processed, which is something I'm sure a lot of mothers can relate to. Because of this, that is why Siouxie started to make her own gummy bears since the options for a sugar-free gummy bear with all-natural ingredients are practically non-existent. Happy National Margarita Day and Happy Two's Day! Such a fun day and I'm ready to celebrate(after I finish work of course)! I plan on celebrating by going to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants on this fine taco Tuesday and enjoying some margaritas with my husband. I'm interested in knowing if you have any plans for National Margarita day or what this special Two's Day means for you!
Aside from going to my favorite Mexican restaurant for margaritas, I love enjoying a couple drinks at home with my girls especially for a girl's spa night. You're never too old to share a couple drinks with Mom! A few nights ago my girls and I enjoyed some drinks from Damn Right Cocktails! Happy Valentine's Day/Superbowl Weekend! Time has flown by quick. I could've sworn it was just New Year's Day yesterday! When it comes to Valentine's Day, two products come to mind: chocolates and flowers. Instead of buying the normal heart shaped of chocolates from the grocery store, there's nothing more fun than changing things up every once in a while. This year, I decided to treat myself and my family with some chocolates and other snacks from Sunnyland Farms.
